Head of the Gvenor Corporation and a dominant figure in the League. For years he has sought the preserved DNA of Guilord Messagala, for reasons no one in the Preceptorium can name — only that his interest never fades.
Eberckhard Cleburne presides over the Gvenor Corporation, a megacorp built on the strategic metals the evacuation cannot proceed without. That makes him powerful. What makes him dangerous is his fixation: for years he has petitioned for access to the DNA of Guilord Ostan Messagala, and the Preceptorium has refused him every time.
Cleburne knows things the public does not — that Messagala is dead, that his refusal to cooperate cost him, that his preserved genome is a weapon. Whatever he intends with it, he is certain of one thing: it won't end well.
President of the Gvenor Corporation, a pillar of the League. Publicly an industrialist; privately, the man hunting a dead genius’s genome.
He has sought Messagala’s DNA for years. The Preceptorium believes the stolen sample has reached him — and that he already knows what to do with it.
Cleburne is not a reckless man. When he says revealing Messagala would be catastrophic, he means he has seen what the knowledge does to those who hold it.
“Some things cannot be shared.”
The Minister of Security, who believes Cleburne holds the stolen Messagala sample.
To whom Cleburne reveals the truth of the Guilords, drawing him into the corporate war.
Fellow magnate of the League’s three pillars — Gvenor, Hooper, and the vanished Fox Moon.
